These pictures include many of the Diplomatic Wireless staff from the period. If you recognise yourself, please get in touch! Any extra photos would be appreciated. All photos in the top section here are © Clive Warner, 1972-3. They were taken with my Minolta 35mm rangefinder camera, 55mm lens and UV filter, mainly with Kodak 100 colour film.

The two 750KW transmitters affectionately known as "BERYL". View looking down the transmitter hall, Another haunting sunset view shot from the north bay. I think I used the 7-second timer to get this shot of myself in the control room. The interior is rugged and doesn't forgive the careless traveller.
A view from the back of one of the bungalows looking towards MERS and the UK Club. This is part of the receiver antenna site, I think. Another shot taken with the 7 second timer. This was my Honda 50. A rainy day on Masirah! This was a rare event.

I recorded a voice tape using my Grampian ribbon mike, then later copied it to a cassette tape, and sent that to my friends by post. Biblical-style sunset. It impressed the hell out of me, that's for sure. Bob looks somewhat tipsy in this snap. On the right is Peter. The guy on the left was a real eccentric but I can't recall who. Photos always welcome
